The Regis School The best in everyone

The Regis School Careers Service

Situated next to the Library at the central entrance to the school, the Careers office is open Monday to Friday to offer informed, impartial advice & guidance to all students of the school on finding the right move for them whenever they choose to leave The Regis School.

With a careers library and software on hand to students, the careers office has access to information on further & higher education, apprenticeships, work experience, internships, training and volunteering opportunities to help students make educated choices about future career paths. With a qualified and highly experienced Careers Adviser on hand to offer one to one appointments or work within the classroom to facilitate understanding about all aspects of moving from school into the working world.

Throughout the school year there are a number of careers events for students including career focused weeks for specific year groups. These incorporate visits from employers, apprenticeship providers, universities, colleges and many other relevant organisations. In addition to this we invite employers to run workshops on networking, interview techniques, achieving your goals and being successful. We feel it is vital for students to get feedback from the very people they will be facing when they leave school.

The careers service has also built up a network of local employers that can offer work experience and strives to help each student from Year 11 to 13 complete an effective CV and begin to understand the process of promoting themselves and their skills in a highly competitive world. Whether that be applying for a Saturday job, a higher apprenticeship or completing a personal statement on a University application.

I am very proud to offer careers support to students of The Regis School, to see the potential of a young person grow as they achieve their goals is fantastic. I see the role of the Careers department as one of bringing in employers, universities and others to open doors for students and let the outside world see just what the students of the school have to offer.Marie Harding – Head of Careers
