The Regis School The best in everyone

Welcome to The Regis School

"The Best In Everyone - Empowering Leaders of the Future"

An Academy sponsored by United Learning.

I am proud and feel very privileged to be leading this successful school that gained a ‘Good’ Ofsted judgment in November 2013.

I have a highly qualified and motivated staff that are passionate about ensuring all students feel safe, happy and reach their potential. We offer a wide curriculum to meet the needs of all students as well as having an established and effective SEN department who support students with additional needs.

As a Rights Respecting School, the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child infect all that we do.  It is a way of being that gives students a sense of purpose and morals, understanding their place in our global community.  We are proud to be one of only 9 secondary schools in the country to have been awarded the highest level 2 award.

We are well renowned as a Sports College with results at GCSE and 6th form that are outstanding.  We have also been awarded Artsmark Gold, the highest accolade for our standards in Performing and Creative Arts!

Our students are kind and care for each other. They are polite and respectful to each other and to staff and the very positive relationships enable effective learning conditions supported by creative and engaging teaching that stretch all abilities.

Our accommodation is extensive, modern and vibrant.  All classrooms feature the excellent resources and technologies that enable students to learn effectively in the 21st Century. Other accommodation includes Art studios, a studio theatre, recording studio, ICT suites and state of the art sports facilities.

As for our popularity, an increasing number of students and parents are now choosing The Regis School for their education, especially in Year 7 where we are now over-subscribed, showing a confidence in our ability to provide a high class and personalised education.

We offer a huge range of extra-curricular activities whether revision sessions, master classes, sports clubs and team, arts exhibitions and performances, and a multitude of trips throughout the south of England as well as to Europe and Africa last year. Building on the success of our engagement as Gamesmakers in the London 2012 Paralympics, our students now serve on the national Youth Sports Trust Steering Committee and as such have attended events at the House of Lords and The Savoy Hotel.

Although we think of ourselves as a good school we are not complacent and continue to strive for further improvements.  Our key priorities for the current school year are as follows:

  • To further develop leadership that ensures consistent high standards across all areas of the school
  • To further improve teaching so that all teachers meet the school’s expectations and more teaching is excellent
  • To improve students’ and staffs’ self-belief, growth mindset and value of education for all
  • To improve students’ independent learning skills and resilience so that they take more responsibility for their own learning
  • To further accelerate the progress of underperforming students, such as HAPs, Pupil Premium students and boys, so that they catch up with other students in the school and nationally
  • To continue to develop a climate across the school that values staff and students, contributing to their performance and well-being

But why take our word on our success? Why not visit us and see The Regis School 'in action' by making an appointment for a guided tour? You will see that our motto ‘The Best in Everyone’ infects all who work and learn here through our new Regis 10; students who are focused and engaged in learning and teachers and support staff who deliver creative and inspiring lessons.

Our website is full of information about our school and we hope you enjoy finding out more about us. I very much look forward to meeting you perhaps and providing your child with the high quality education that brings them the success they deserve.
