Platinum School Games Mark for The Regis School

We are delighted to announce that we, The Regis School, have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year. This is the highest available award. Which can only be accessed by schools that have maintained gold for a consecutive 5 years. The Regis School is the only Secondary School in the West Sussex West area to have achieved this.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. The award reviews the whole PE and school sport provision from student leadership to competitions attended. We are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Some key achievements for last year included:

 Over 250 sports leaders

Over 750 participants in extracurricular clubs

The school was represented in over 10 sports against other schools. This would have been in numerous age groups as well as B & C teams.

We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. Benefiting not just our school but all primary schools across the area.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of

participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that

the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

This would not have been possible without the consistent pursuit of perfection by the PE department. They value the work of the School Games and School Games Organiser and embrace it thoroughly to benefit the pupils. They continue to set the example for the area.

We look forward to maintaining this high standard and applying in 2020.
