Rotary Club Young Chef of the Year - First Heat

Thursday 24th October was the date for the first heat of the Young Chef of the Year. This is a competition organised by the Rotary Club. 12 students were selected from Year 8 to Year 11. They cooked savoury and sweet dishes which reflected healthy eating working to a budget of £10.00. The students showcased lots of complex practical skills creatively. This is a really tough competitions and the top 3 students are then selected to go through to the district heats, with the hope of going  through  to regional and then national finals.  The students were amazing and all worked to exceptionally high standards. The judges were industry chefs who awarded marks for originality, presentation and taste.
