World Book Day

World Book Day was celebrated at The Regis School in a number of ways.  KS3 students had a day of book related activities, including playing Quidditch in PE, George’s Marvellous Medicine in Science and describing book characters in French.  English lessons saw students creating their own picture books.  Other activities included puppet making to perform abridged stories, and Hunger

Games themed sessions, such as apothecary skills - salve making from herbs,
den building and camouflage make up.  Mrs Rimmer in the library organised an escape room type activity, with students having to solve puzzles to gain the combination code for a locked case of prizes.

A highlight of the day was having author Anthony McGowan visit all of Year 7, 8 and 9.  He is an award winning author, and kept students enthralled with his mixture of gory and funny stories.  He was available for book signing, and we thoroughly enjoyed his visit.
