Beat The Bug

Catch it, bin it, kill it

We are entering the time of the year when the bugs and colds have most impact on attendance at school. We are going to have a real focus on attendance and resilience over the next four weeks. We understand just how important every day in school is for our students and want to ensure that any absence is minimised. To highlight our attendance focus weeks we will be running competitions recognising good attendance and doing workshop activities with students in tutor time on how to stay healthy in the winter months. We will be encouraging students to ensure they minimise the risk of infecting others with a CATCH IT – BIN IT – KILL IT campaign to mirror those promoted by the NHS each year. We will be really encouraging the students to make sure they wash their hands thoroughly after using the toilet and before eating and where they can use an antibacterial hand sanitiser gel. We will have some supplies of these gels in school but would recommend parents to provide their child with a handy small bottle of gel they can keep in their bags to use before break and lunch. These can be found in any chemist or supermarket at a very reasonable price. I hope we can all work together to make it a happy, healthy run to the end of term.
