PE Department - Athlete Profile - Lauren Ford

Lauren started playing golf 2.5 years ago after trying different sports to find the one she enjoyed. She first started in a girls’ training group and quickly advanced and started playing competitions.

Since then Lauren has gone from a 54 handicap to a 12 Handicap and 18 months ago Lauren was selected for Sussex U18 Girls squad and has played several times for them including against the England Regional team.

In 2018 she won her county competition as well as several competitions at her home club for whom she has played for their junior team since she was 10 years old.

This year Lauren has won many awards and competitions including Sussex U18 most improved player, Ham Manor outstanding player of the year, Ladies most improved player, Stephen Stein cup winner, Ham Manor junior order of merit winner and Easter Cup winner and she also competed in her first England Golf Southern regional U13 Competition and finished runner up.

The remarkable thing about Lauren’s achievements are they played at U18 level but most of the team is nearer 15/16/17years old which makes her one youngest girl’s playing at this level of golf. Lauren’s aims for the future, is to play for the England Regional team and to achieve a Golf scholarship in America.
