Regis School Ski Trip 2019

This year’s ski trip was in a beautiful region of Austria called Lungau. Twenty one students made the journey and were greeted with lots of snow and beautiful blue skies which lasted the whole week. Conditions were great and the resort lent itself perfectly to beginners. The pistes were quiet with lots of open space to explore. We had two ski groups, the beginners and the intermediate group. Both groups made excellent progress and despite lots of falling over (which adds to the fun), all students were able to reach the peak and ski to the bottom by the end of the week!

At the end of the trip, the following awards were presented to the following students:

R4 Positive: Igor Sak for always smiling and making everyone else smile.

R5 Determined: Ellie Bicker for being moved up to the intermediate group after the first morning despite being a complete beginner!

R6 Resilient: Laurynas Berenis for fighting a cold all week yet refusing to give in to it and Brad Jackson for falling over the whole week yet always getting back up with no moaning!

R9: Kind (the holiday Mum): This was award to Jess Parker who looked after everyone and always made sure everyone was ok.

Most improved: Harry Prior who was a competent skier by the end of the week despite being a beginner at the start!

Unsung Hero: Adam Cooper who quietly made excellent progress throughout the week and showed an excellent attitude throughout the trip. He was also pretty good at the quiz too!

Best entertainer: Ben Simmonds who always made everyone laugh and was the first on the microphone to start of our evening of karaoke! Excellent performance!

Global Citizen: Adelicia Lavender for talking to everyone on the slopes, even if they didn’t speak English! Such a polite young lady who made us all smile with her friendly manner.

…and finally, a special mention to Toby Buck (year13) who has been on every school ski trip. Toby is exceptionally helpful to staff, caring to all the students and will be missed next year! A big thank you to Toby from Mrs James, Mr James and Mr Purgavie for all your support on our trips, you have been an absolute pleasure to work with and we hope that you fulfil your dream of completing a ski season sometime in the near future!

Outstanding services to the ski trip: Toby Buck!

A huge well done to all our students on the trip. They were a pleasure to work with and represented the school exceptionally. We are extremely proud of the progress you all made!
