Cashless Catering

At the heart of the cashless system there is a database, this database is used to recognise each individual student, hold individual cash balances, record cash spent and cash received. It also records what food was purchased on any specific date and time of day.

Each student will have their fingerprint registered which will then be translated to a unique alpha numeric code, the image of the fingerprint is then immediately discarded, from this point on the system will identify the student using this unique code.

To make purchases the student places their finger on a scanner at the point of sale, a display will show the catering staff the students name, class and current cash balance held within the system. The selected food items will be entered into the system from an itemised list while the amount spent and the new cash balance will show on the display.

Students can bring in cash to school which can be loaded onto our cash loaders to top up their account, or parents can top up their children’s account via a secure website which is then available for the student to spend within an hour.

The school will provide a unique ‘pupil link code’ to parents which will allow them to create an online account linked to The Regis School’s payment system.

Free School Meals

If your child is entitled to free school meals then their account will be credited to the value of a free school meal for each day. This means that no student will have to use a different system for free school meals and ensures that they do not feel that they are singled out when using our catering facilities.
