Celebrating Success in the UKMT Mathematical Competition for Girls

On Wednesday 24th September, our top-performing female mathematicians from Years 11, 12, and 13 proudly represented the school in the UKMT Mathematical Competition for Girls. This prestigious national event, organised by the UK Mathematics Trust, aims to inspire and challenge young women who have a passion for problem-solving and mathematical thinking.

The competition encourages students to tackle complex problems under timed conditions, promoting creativity, resilience, and logical reasoning. It’s a celebration of mathematical talent and a chance for students to shine on a national stage.

We’re thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our students:

Chloe Wedge achieved the highest score in Year 11 with an impressive 8 points.
Maddison Vincent led the way in Years 12 and 13 with a score of 14, earning a Merit Certificate for placing in the top 40% nationally.

All participants received a Participation Certificate, and five students distinguished themselves further by scoring in the top 40% across the UK, earning Merit Certificates for their exceptional performance.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that four talented Year 12 students will be taking part in the Team Maths Challenge this November. We wish them every success and look forward to sharing their journey.
